Responsibilities
The Guest Experience Lead (Lodging) provides courteous, prompt service to potential or resident guests by answering phones, making reservations, checking guests in and out, and interacting with guests in a friendly and professional manner to create a memorable experience.

Greet and interact with guests in a warm, friendly, professional manner

Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance

Utilize property management system to make reservations, check-in/check-out guests, process payments, maintain a cash drawer, and operate office equipment

Ensure a smooth check-in and check-out process for guests

Deliver guest amenities as requested

Accurately process guest payments while maintaining PCI compliance

Operate internal communication devices (e.g., PBX) and answer/transfer calls professionally

Provide the highest level of service by anticipating, listening attentively, and promptly responding to guest requests and complaints

Partner with housekeeping and/or maintenance to ensure guest requests and complaints are resolved promptly

Keep the front desk area clean and neat by sanitizing surfaces and office equipment

Demonstrate a working knowledge of all property services and facilities

Comply with standard operating procedures

Document overnight shift happenings and provide updates to lodging leadership regularly

Provide guests with insightful information about nearby parks and properties

Inform guests of events and activities during their visit

Promptly escalate maintenance issues or emergencies to the appropriate authorities

All other duties assigned by leadership

Supervisory Duties

Assist with the daily supervision of the guest experience/front desk team and any other assigned departments

Lead by example and represent Lake Compounce’s core values

Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned hosts

Ensure compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures

Become knowledgeable of the essential duties of all assigned front desk positions and backfill when needed

Participate in new-hire training activities for all assigned employees

Ensure required meal and other breaks are given in accordance with Connecticut law

Departmental Duties

Greet and interact with guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner

Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance

Maintain reservations and check-in/out processes, process payments, and manage a cash drawer

Ensure a smooth guest experience at check-in/check-out

Provide guest services and amenities as requested

Accurately process payments with PCI compliance

Operate communications devices and manage calls efficiently

Provide information about property services and facilities

Comply with all standard operating procedures

Keep leadership informed with routine updates

Share information about events and activities with guests

Escalate issues promptly to maintenance or leadership as needed

All other duties as assigned by leadership

Education And Experience

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred. Equivalent work experience will also be considered

1+ year of previous hospitality or front desk experience required

Language
Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Connecticut Child Labor Laws

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Must have reliable transportation to and from work for scheduled shifts

Ability to comply with all uniform policies

Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns professionally

Positive, outgoing, professional attitude

Ability to handle pressure and difficult situations with poise

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Ability to accurately use Point of Sale (POS) and/or other cash handling equipment

Proficiency with office technology and equipment (PC, software, copier)

Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Ability to follow directions, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand in place for long periods

Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for the majority of the workday

Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, or reaching above shoulders

Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods while using a computer

Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing up to 20 pounds

Working Conditions

Indoor lodging setting, predominantly at the front desk

Potential exposure to variable outside temperatures on occasion

Frequent interruptions and the need to reprioritize activities

Constant repetitive motion
