Role Overview
The Mechanical Project Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of major mechanical construction projects from concept through commissioning. This individual will manage all aspects of HVAC, plumbing, and piping system delivery, ensuring projects meet strict standards for safety, schedule, budget, and quality.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include driving project planning and execution, managing client communications, coordinating with estimating, design, BIM/VDC, prefabrication, and field operations, and proactively resolving challenges to maintain momentum. The Project Manager will also lead cost control, risk management, and resource allocation, ensuring each project is completed with excellence and client satisfaction.

Candidates progressing from Assistant Project Manager or estimating roles with strong mechanical contractor backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Core Responsibilities
Lead mechanical and plumbing projects from design-assist and pre-construction through closeout
Provide constructibility input during design, coordinating with engineers, architects, and BIM/VDC teams
Build and manage project budgets, cost breakdowns, and cash flow forecasts while ensuring margin protection
Develop and maintain project schedules, milestone tracking, and look-ahead planning
Negotiate subcontractor and vendor agreements; oversee procurement and material logistics
Manage project financials including billings, change orders, and forecasting to achieve over-billing and profitability targets
Coordinate shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and BIM deliverables to ensure field alignment
Oversee field operations with superintendents, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety compliance
Foster client relationships, lead regular project update meetings, and identify opportunities for repeat business
Direct project turnover activities, including startup, commissioning, punch list, and final closeout documentation
Mentor project engineers and junior staff to develop the next generation of project leaders
Required Background
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship as sponsorship is not available for this position
Background with a mechanical contractor (HVAC, plumbing, piping) required; GC-side, owner's rep, and facilities maintenance backgrounds do not qualify
3+ years of project management or project controls experience with a mechanical contractor; candidates progressing from APM, estimating, or construction administration roles will be considered
Strong technical understanding of HVAC airside/hydronic systems, plumbing systems (domestic, sanitary, med gas), and controls/BAS
Solid financial skills including cost tracking, change order management, billing, and budget awareness
Strong communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills
OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain upon hire
6+ years of mechanical project management experience with documented project sizes of $5M or greater preferred
Healthcare and/or data center project experience strongly preferred
Familiarity with project management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Timberline/Sage, or similarprefered
Familiarity with BIM/VDC coordination and prefabrication workflows preferred
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; equivalent field experience accepted
PMP certification or equivalent project management credential a plus
Valid driver's license and ability to pass background, MVR, and drug screenings
