Job Description
Senior Manager Communications: Integrated Functions, Customers & Engineering is responsible for leading the strategic communication and internal engagement for Airbus' corporate functions, customer-facing organizations, and engineering centers across the U.S. This role oversees approximately 3,000 employees located in multiple sites, including Herndon, VA; Washington, DC; Miami, FL; Atlanta, GA; Grand Prairie, TX; Mobile, AL; and Wichita, KS. The mission is to bridge the gap between global business strategy and the diverse professional experiences of our non-manufacturing workforce, ensuring that the indispensable value of our customers, engineering, and corporate teams are recognized across the U.S. and globally.
Primary Responsibilities
Leads the communication strategy for all internal channels across corporate and engineering hubs, including Airbus TVsdigital signage, newsletters, and town halls.
Translates cross-divisional milestones and complex engineering or customer‑success achievements into narratives that drive employee pride and operational alignment.
Serves as the primary communications expert and advisor to the US Integrated Functions, Customer Support, and Engineering leadership teams.
Manages internal speaking engagements and tailored messaging for functional site executives.
Develops the "Airbus Innovation & Service" story, focusing on technical excellence, efficiency, and the innovations that enable brand awareness.
Oversees site‑specific sponsorships and charitable donations for corporate hubs, ensuring alignment with global values and functional impact goals.
Leads the coordination of internal site events and provides high‑level coordination for dignitary visits and VIP tours at non‑manufacturing facilities.
Works as a key report to the Senior Director, Strategic Communications & Community Engagement, balancing crisis readiness with proactive engagement.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, or related field required.
Experience
10+ years in Corporate or Internal Communications, specifically within a large‑scale global organization.

Strategic Counseling: Proven ability to provide strategic insights to senior officials and functional leadership teams on communications and business topics.

Innovation and Agility: Must be innately innovative and flexible, serving as both a strategic thinker and a tactical, hands‑on contributor to storytelling.
Content Governance: Solid understanding of multi-channel content strategy and digital platforms to ensure consistent messaging.
Executive Ghostwriting: Comfortable coaching and ghostwriting for high‑level executives, humanizing leadership through professional social media and internal speaking circuits.
Communication Skills
Stature and Presence: Must be a strong personal communicator with the stature and presence to represent the functional and engineering divisions effectively to employees and community leaders.
Editorial Excellence: Must be fluent in English with top‑notch writing and editing abilities, capable of translating complex technical products into compelling stories.
Executive Coaching and Ghostwriting: Comfortable coaching and ghostwriting for high‑level executives, humanizing leadership through professional social media and internal speaking circuits.
Influencing and Advocacy: Ability to effectively lead corporate advocacy efforts and negotiate with site-level business and functional leaders to ensure brand consistency.
