Job Summary:
The Maintenance Lead - RTE at Kraft Heinz Food Company will be responsible for overseeing and executing the maintenance activities within our Ready‑To‑Eat (RTE) production facility to ensure optimal equipment performance, product quality, and food safety. This role involves leading a team of maintenance technicians, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing preventative maintenance programs.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, including scheduling, training, performance management, and conflict resolution.
Develop, implement, and monitor preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all RTE production equipment, including ovens, conveyors, packaging machinery, and other processing units.
Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on production equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), and other food safety regulations.
Manage spare parts inventory, procure necessary components, and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and engineering departments to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Participate in the installation, commissioning, and optimization of new equipment and systems.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and proactively address them.
Prepare and present reports on maintenance performance, equipment breakdowns, and improvement projects.
Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide hands‑on support as needed, potentially outside of regular business hours.
Job Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or technical certification in a relevant field (e.g., Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering Technology) preferred.
Minimum of 5‑7 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably within a food manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) troubleshooting and basic programming.
Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for work order management and record‑keeping.
Familiarity with food safety regulations, including GMP, HACCP, and sanitation best practices.
Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in varying environmental conditions (e.g., hot, cold, wet).
