Fairfax Behavioral Health, founded in 1930, is a private, free‑standing mental health hospital specializing in psychiatric and detox treatment. We strive to meet the needs of our community by offering evidence‑based programs across multiple locations in our region, including Kirkland, Everett, and Monroe, Washington.

Responsibilities

Clinically evaluate patients detained by DCR on an initial 120-hour hold and assess whether additional inpatient hospitalization is needed or whether a less restrictive option is appropriate.

Co‑author 14/90/180‑day petitions for involuntary treatment with attending provider.

Provide expert witness testimony in court proceedings through patient evaluation, medical chart review, discussions with treatment providers and witnesses, and direct examination/before cross‑examination from prosecution/defense attorneys.

Qualifications
Education:

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a related mental health field is required. A Doctoral (PhD/PsyD) degree in Psychology or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

Preferred: 5 years post‑Master’s or 3 years post‑Doctoral experience in a psychiatric health care setting.

Strong clinical assessment skills required.

Background in forensic or clinical work required.

Additional Requirements:

Must be fully licensed (associate license not accepted) in the state of Washington as a Psychologist, Social Worker, or related mental health field. Employees must obtain CPR, first aid, Handle with Care, and Verbal De‑Escalation certification upon hire provided by the facility.
