Role Summary

We are looking for an Application Engineer to work closely to support our Account Executives, Sales Executives, and Order Management Specialists in pursuit of sales opportunities. As an Application Engineer, you will collaborate with the customer to provide guidance regarding product orders and proposal requirements, while assuring high levels of customer service and satisfaction in accordance with our Core Values.

Duties and Responsibilities

Produce and provide proposals for customer solutions by listening to and evaluating our customer’s requirements and selecting and proposing innovative control solutions according to our customer’s and principal’s standards and practices.
Grow our valve automation business to meet annual company sales goals and targets in our coverage area by promoting and fostering NECI’s reputation as a total valve supplier for ball valves, butterfly valves, valve automation, and solutions, including participating in training, developing a sufficient knowledge base of all product lines, and demonstrating competency to meet performance standards.
Achieve desired sales results for annual new product initiatives by participating in NECI and principal new product launches, probing and uncovering customer needs, and applying new technology and product solution offerings.
Provide support and technical services to customers by assisting users with start-up, checkout, and calibration, and resolving product and/or service problems based on our principal’s standards and practices and NECI internal procedures.
Be responsible for following through on all customer orders, returns, credits, and invoicing issues to a satisfactory resolution in accordance with Think Customer principals.
Support on-time delivery to customer by assessing needs, determining factories’ abilities, negotiating due dates, and expediting products and services with suppliers and principals as needed.
Identify new sales opportunities and maintain accurate customer data in IFS, qualifying new opportunities to support account growth and penetration strategies.
Participate in our quality management system by adopting the quality policy, reducing quality deficiencies, and contributing to Corrective and Preventive Action, Quality Circles, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Participate in the company’s safety and health program by following policies, reporting compliance issues, and implementing recommendations to improve safety.
Maintain and develop professional competence by attending training sessions, web-based courses, and professional development workshops.
Report market conditions and key customer and competitor activities to supervisors and management in a timely manner.
Qualifications

3+ years of relevant work experience.
Competitive spirit: self-motivated and driven to exceed goals.
Proven experience in customer-facing roles (sales experience not required) and passion for people engagement.
A starting annual salary between $75,000 – $100,000 based on level of previous experience. In addition, hired applicants will be eligible for a variable incentive plan.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
