Position Summary
The Senior Front Office Assistant performs routine computerized scheduling and administrative functions in an ambulatory physician office, operating under the direction of the Department Manager, Medical Office Manager, Academic Program Manager, Academic Practice Nurse Manager, and/or the Practice Site Supervisor.

Location and Hours
The location is 300 South Central Avenue, Apopka, FL 32703

The hours are Monday - Friday, 8am‑5pm

Responsibilities

Adhere to and assure compliance with Orlando Health and department‑specific policies, procedures, value statements, and Commitment to Excellence standards.

Handle multiple simultaneous tasks: answer telephone, take messages, file lab reports and medical records, and manage other information according to practice policies.

Perform word processing and spreadsheet data entry.

Perform charge entry and cash handling.

Act as liaison between the physician, patient, and insurance companies, including obtaining referrals and/or authorizations.

Maintain regularly punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.

Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Other Related Functions

Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Indicator activities as assigned.

Demonstrate awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency standards.

Practice efficient use of supplies.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized office environment.

Assist office billing services as requested.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent.

Typing speed of approximately 30 words per minute or ability to demonstrate competent use of a practice management computer system.

Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding.

No licensure or certification required.

Two (2) years’ experience in a medical office environment.
