
Facility Operations Specialist.

Responsibilities
Manage all phases of the buildings and facilities maintenance program.
Oversee major repetitive tasks such as repair and replacement of components of buildings, septic and water systems, electrical systems, heating and refrigeration systems, ground maintenance, and snow removal.
Monitor equipment costs and make recommendations regarding efficiencies.
Conduct facility safety and health compliance inspections.
Monitor construction projects and inform Contracting Officer and/or Engineering Project Manager of any problems.
Develop budget and make cost estimates for facilities.
Qualifications
For the GS‑09 level, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑07 grade level; or a master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher‑level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. if directly related to the work of this position. Acceptable fields of graduate coursework may include Engineering, Industrial Arts, Property Management, or Business Administration. OR a combination of specialized experience and education (only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours may be used to qualify).
Performed preventative maintenance, restoration, renovation or replacement of building, electrical, and mechanical equipment; assisted with the repair and replacement of components of buildings and conducting condition surveys on existing buildings.
Performed diagnostic inspection of facility structures, related electrical and mechanical systems, and equipment; and/or coordinated with and assisted engineers to ensure adequate maintenance or restoration of buildings and grounds with minimum disruption.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work. Volunteer work helps build competencies and can provide valuable training that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time in grade requirement: 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level within the normal line of progression. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.
All federal employees required to have federal payments made by direct deposit.
Successfully pass the E‑Verify employment verification check.
Additional Information
Transfer of station may be authorized. Final determination will be made at time of official job offer.
This is a non‑bargaining unit position.
