Payroll Specialist
Work Location Manteca, CA Position Purpose Under minimal supervision the Payroll Specialist is a key member of the HR and HR Ops team, and is responsible for various payroll related activities as well as supporting various areas of HRIS Success Factors Payroll. This role will interact with employees throughout the Company with an emphasis on Human Resources and Accounting.
Functional Responsibility Essential Duties
Researches timekeeping exception items and takes proper corrective action
Calculates and processes payroll and deductions
Processes DTC Incentives, Hospitality Incentives, health insurance premiums and retirement contributions
Prepares and distributes payroll reports to management
Assists Accounting with payroll general ledger reconciliation
Maintains accurate payroll records and documentation
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Responds to employee inquiries and payroll questions
Trains all new hires on timekeeping and payroll practices

Minimum Requirements Education and Experience Bachelor's degree, or equivalent years of experience 2+ years of experience in Payroll or similar role Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of payroll principles, general ledger reconciliation, regulations and best practices Proficiency in payroll software and Excel Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information Knowledge of benefits administration is a plus Excellent organizational and project management skills; self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and quickly assess what needs to get done to meet critical deadlines Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization using written, verbal, and presentation skills Keen attention to details and thinks things through thoroughly to identify potential risks and pitfalls Strong analytical skills Effective team player; understands hands-on approach to providing HR support Working Conditions General office environment with occasional travel Required to drive automotive vehicle or equipment Work Standards Acts in a manner reflective of the Company culture of High Moral Standards, Innovation and Continuous Evolution, Trust in Team, Continuous Improvement, and Sustainable Relationships Communicates, interacts, and works effectively with others; receptive to feedback and coaching; voices concerns in a constructive manner Demonstrates commitment to safety first; communicates safety concerns; promotes a safe work environment based on established safety standards and training Follows all Company policies and procedures Additional Comments Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position at any time. California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is a Non-Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $26.78 to $41.86. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
