Job Description
Supports departmental workflow by adapting to schedule changes and assisting with patient throughput as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Performs ultrasound imaging procedures of abdominal, pelvic, OB, transvaginal, small parts, breast, vascular, and Doppler studies as applicable to facility capabilities. Positions patients and equipment, adjusts transducers and technical settings to capture optimal diagnostic images, waveforms, and heart rates. Notes velocities, measures anatomical structures, and documents relevant clinical history to support accurate radiologist interpretation. Coordinates equipment servicing and preventive maintenance while ensuring proper sterilization of transducers. Conducts vascular and Doppler studies with precision to support diagnostic accuracy and clinical decision‑making. Applies knowledge of anatomy and pathology to differentiate normal from abnormal findings during imaging procedures. Collaborates with radiologists and clinical teams to clarify imaging needs and ensure appropriate study completion. Maintains accurate and timely documentation of procedures, findings, and patient interactions in accordance with clinical standards. Adheres to safety protocols and infection control practices during all imaging procedures. Assists in training and mentoring new staff or students in ultrasound techniques and departmental procedures. Participates in quality assurance activities to improve imaging outcomes and operational efficiency.

Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) Required

American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Required

Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) (Preferred)
