Utility Maintenance Specialist

The City of Oregon City is seeking to establish a hiring list of qualified candidates that can fill the position of temporary/seasonal Utility Maintenance Specialist with the Public Works Operations Division. This is a non-union position with no benefits. $21.00 per hour for new hires $22.00 per hour for returning seasonal employees $24.00 per hour for those that hold a valid CDL Temporary/seasonal positions could last up to 6 months. Work hours are Monday thru Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This job requires submitting both the online application and uploading a resume.
Examples of Duties

Duties will include the successful candidate to be able to perform a variety of skilled and general labor tasks in connection with the construction, repair and maintenance of roadways; water distribution systems, storm drainage and sanitary sewer collection systems, and other related public works infrastructure. Other activities which may be required include: inspecting and cleaning catch basins, field mowing, detention facility maintenance, roadside vegetation control, grounds maintenance, fire hydrant painting, pressure washing, paving laborer, traffic control, truck driving and limited equipment operation.
Typical Qualifications

Requires employees to maintain safe working environments, communicate courteously and cooperatively with other staff and the general public and work with a team or individual situation with minimum supervision. Must have a clean driving record.
Supplemental Information

Process will consist of screening applicants based on experience and training. The most qualified applicants will be invited to an oral interview.
