Sr Compensation Analyst (Business Intelligence)
While providing on-site support for our 50+ distribution centers, our HR Operations team ensures effective execution of human resources strategies in areas such as Talent Development, Workforce Planning, Talent Selection, Engagement, Recognition, Performance Management, Organizational Development, Training, Associate Relations, Compensation, Benefits, Wellness, Risk Safety, Labor Relations, Sustainability, and Philanthropy. In addition, this team plays a pivotal role in our current transformation journey. Purpose:
The Sr Compensation Analyst (Business Intelligence) is responsible for delivering advanced compensation analytics, providing analytical and program support to help ensure that compensation programs and practices are competitive, internally equitable, and compliant with applicable wage and pay equity requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain advanced compensation analytics, dashboards, and AI-assisted insights that support objective compensation decision-making.
Develop and maintain compensation audits that support UNFI's compensation philosophy, effective workforce planning, and legal compliance.
Support the development and implementation of compensation audits, including market competitiveness, minimum wage, and minimum salary compliance, pay transparency, and pay equity.
Prepare and submit reports for DOL, OES, and other regulatory reporting.
Provide day-to-day support to the Compensation team through advanced data analysis, to assist in resolving questions related to associate pay, compensation structures, job evaluations, market-pricing, and compliance.
Identify and implement or recommend improvements related to compensation analysis, HR systems, reporting, and dashboards.
Performs other job duties as required.
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, Finance, Statistics, or a related field required.
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification or coursework preferred.
Experience:
Five (5) or more years of progressive compensation or total rewards experience, including advanced analytical support for compensation programs and decision-making.
Direct experience conducting internal audits and developing dashboards to monitor market competitiveness, performance-based pay, and policy compliance.
Proven experience with external market surveys, including submissions, benchmarking, market pricing, compensation audits, and regulatory compliance through effective data analysis and visualization.
Experience working within a Compensation Center of Excellence or similarly structured compensation function preferred.
Knowledge Skills/Abilities:
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including advanced Excel, dashboard development, modeling, and use of database and reporting tools.
Working knowledge of statistical analysis, including regression.
Experience with HRIS and compensation systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, SAP, PayFactors, SuccessFactors, or similar platforms.
Solid understanding of FLSA, pay equity, minimum wage, and federal, state, and local compensation regulations.
Excellent written, verbal, and consultative communication skills.
Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
Physical Environment/Demands:
This position is classified as remote, where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.
Some travel may be required (up to 10%).
Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at the desk or computer terminal.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment during the normal workday.
Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.
