Position Overview
Design Engineer – full‑time role in automotive design, focused on BIW components and using Catia for 3D design.
Qualifications
BS Degree or higher in ME.
Minimum of 7 years of automotive experience in using Catia for 3D design.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing BIW components.
A related advanced degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
Strong knowledge of vehicle styling and packaging.
Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) required.
Experience with Catia v6 (3DX) is a significant advantage.
Familiarity with vehicle simulation, especially in Body rigidity, NVH, and Crash, is highly preferred.
Ability to program in VBA and EKL to automate design workflows is highly preferred.
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and multitasking capabilities to handle simultaneous projects and support requests.
Excellent communication skills to liaise between design and CAE teams.
Use industry best practices and up‑to‑date technologies to identify inefficiencies and improve the design process.
A self‑starter who proactively accomplishes tasks with minimal guidance.
