A CRNA-independent practice hospital in Rocky Mount, Virginia is seeking a Board-Certified CRNA for a long-term locum tenens assignment. This opportunity offers a stable and collaborative environment where locum providers are fully integrated into the permanent team. The facility supports independent practice within the full scope of anesthesia care, including regional anesthesia and peripheral nerve blocks.

Start Date: August 2026 (Temporary privileges may be available)
Contract Length: 3-12 months with the option to extend
Licensure: Willing to license qualified candidates

Schedule & Coverage

Regular Schedule:

• Days: Monday - Friday
• Hours: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Optional Call Coverage:

• Weeknights: 3:30 PM - 11:00 PM
• Weekends: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Overtime: Available after scheduled shifts

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting: Hospital-based anesthesia services

Facility Overview:

• Independent CRNA practice model
• Operating Rooms: 2 ORs
• Procedure Rooms: 2
• Typical Daily Coverage: Approximately 3 rooms running per day

Case Mix Includes:

• General Surgery
• Gynecology
• ENT
• Plastics
• Podiatry
• Hand Surgery
• Pediatrics
• Urology
• Gastroenterology/Endoscopy

Scope of Practice:

• Full-scope anesthesia care
• Peripheral nerve blocks
• Pre-anesthetic evaluation and post-operative assessment
• Development and implementation of anesthetic plans
• Airway management and intraoperative monitoring

Work Environment:

• Locum CRNAs are granted the same permissions and access as permanent staff
• Emphasis on stability and continuity of care
• Some current locum providers have remained onsite for several years
• Opportunity to support staffing for a new hospital wing connected to the Roanoke area

Support Staff:

• Collaborative surgical and perioperative teams
• Locums integrated into the permanent staff model

Credentialing:

• Temporary privileges may be available for qualified candidates

Requirements

• Board Certified CRNA (NBCRNA) - Required
• Active Virginia License - Preferred (Facility willing to license)
• Ability to practice independently within the full scope of anesthesia - Required
• Experience with peripheral nerve blocks - Preferred
• Interest in long-term assignments (6-12 months or longer) - Highly Preferred
