OHSU Specialty Critical Care Float Pool nurses provide high-quality, innovative and compassionate family-centered nursing care. Critical Care Float Pool nurses support adult critical care units and individually selected additional units such as Emergency Department (ED), Emergency Observation Unit (ED Obs), and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Critical Care Float Pool nurses support these units for selected planned and unplanned absences and for other staffing deficits. Critical Care Float Pool nurses may staff overflow area as patient care needs arise.

Function/Duties of Position
$55.24 - $92.02 per hour, based on RN Degree and level of experience

With your ICU clinical expertise, you'll be able to seamlessly integrate into all 4 Adult ICU areas, maintain your device competencies (ECMO, CRRT, IABP, etc), utilize your precepting skills and be a part of our Virtual ICU team! Required Qualifications

18 months recent adult critical care RN experience in a high-acuity critical care setting

Associate or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA)

BSN preferred

Associate Degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire.

Current, unencumbered Oregon RN License

BLS and ACLS from AHA required. New hires will be enrolled and required to complete during orientation.

Float to avariety of assigned units; sufficient time management, flexibility, and prioritization skills to float up to every 4 hours if necessary

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

3 years critical care RN experience in a high-acuity critical care setting

CCRN certification or other applicable critical care specialty certification

Experience in a float pool

Additional Details

Length of Orientation Experienced Nurse

External candidates: OHSU & Nursing New Employee Orientation (NEO) for about a week.

Either Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Specialty Fellowship/Fellowship Learning Pathway or Orientation experience for 3 days-26 weeks depending on the care area. An employment service agreement may apply.
