Graduate Program Coordinator, Department of Art and Art History

Location: UT Main Campus

Position Duration: Expected to Continue

Responsibilities

Provide information to prospective graduate students and the public on eligibility for admission and program requirements.

Interact with university students, faculty, staff and outside agencies as a representative of the graduate program within the Office of Graduate Studies, offering in‑depth information, clarification and interpretation of institutional and graduate program rules and regulations.

Work with the faculty Graduate Advisors to develop and implement recruitment strategies, assist with the registration process and orientation.

Ensure the department remains in compliance with institutional rules, regulations and procedures.

Serve as primary liaison between the department and prospective graduate students; track and inform faculty regarding graduate student progress.

Manage scholarships with department Assistant Chairs and faculty Graduate Advisors, including recruiting, selection, administration and reporting.

Maintain electronic records, files, statistics and databases on graduate students and applicants.

Assist the department with other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 years of experience in an administrative role.

Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree.

Experience working with college students in an administrative capacity.

Previous entry‑level Graduate Coordinator experience.

Prior administrative work experience at the University of Texas at Austin.

Salary
$55,000 fixed salary.

Work Shift

8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday.

Five days in‑office for at least the first 45 days of employment; four days minimum in‑office thereafter.

Working Conditions

Prolonged screen time.

Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

Use of manual dexterity.
