This position is located at our Astria Toppenish Hospital in the Behavioral Health Unit. Shift: More information will be provided during the interview. What you get to do every day! As an Inpatient Behavioral Health Manager Under the direct supervision of a Mental Health Professional, you will perform inpatient therapy and social work services and functions with patients of all ages in the area(s) assignment, and assists in carrying out assigned tasks for the department. You will: Supervise and coach program staff around mental health intakes, treatment plan development, individual and group therapy and trauma informed care Provide clinical supervision to employees and interns as credentials allow Assist to complete intakes/assessments and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary teams, incorporating evidence-based interventions and therapeutic modalities Monitor and evaluate patients' progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure a multidisciplinary approach to treatment Participate in treatment team meetings, case conferences, and clinical supervision sessions to review cases, share insights, and enhance professional development Provide trauma informed crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms, implementing appropriate de-escalation techniques and safety protocols Must be capable of engaging in crisis management using policy-approved verbal de-escalation, physical and mechanical restraint techniques, as trained, when managing potentially dysregulated or combative patients, while ensuring the safety of self, patients, and staff without physical restrictions Provide supervision to assigned staff, develop performance plans as needed and support staff development Stay abreast of advancements in the field of mental health and participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to maintain clinical competency Serve as a resource to clinical team regarding legal and regulatory requirements related to involuntary treatment, patient rights, and discharge planning processes Conduct interviews and make hiring selections for team vacancies Gather & track program data and implement policies & procedures Track compliance with all applicable regulations and prepare for survey & license reviews or audits Other duties as assigned Collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries Adheres to the core values and standards of the organization Requirements Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or related field from an accredited institution leading to eligibility for independent clinical licensure Two years of experience providing behavioral health treatment as a social worker, therapist, or counselor strongly preferred Must be eligible for or working toward independent licensure as LICSW or LMHC in Washington Must be eligible for registration as Agency Affiliated Counselor Driver's license and vehicle liability insurance Must maintain current BLS certification Oral and written fluency in the English language Preferred Qualifications and Education Previous experience working with individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders or complex psychosocial needs. Certification or specialized training in specific therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Trauma-Informed Care. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in documenting clinical information accurately and efficiently. Knowledge of Washington State mental health laws, regulations, and reimbursement systems. Bilingual proficiency in English and another language commonly spoken in the local community.
