Job Summary
Serve as a Science Advisor in the Office of Naval Research Global.

Responsibilities

Advise the Commander and staff on technical developments relating to the future of naval warfare, including expert advice on the plausibility of science and technology maturation.

Identify operational technology needs relevant to major joint, Navy, or Marine Corps commands.

Assist and advise the host Commander and staff in identifying warfighting capability gaps that critically impact combat readiness.

Identify potential improvements to existing equipment or develop new concepts, including command ship technologies and their integration, C4I systems; integrated air and missile defense, long‑range maritime fires.

Monitor current programs conducted for tactical and data gathering purposes, advising military staff on the adequacy of scientific talent assigned to each program.

Education
Applicants must possess at least one of the following levels of education:

Biological Sciences (General Schedule Qualification Standards 0401)

General Engineering (0801)

Physical Sciences (1301)

Operations Research (1515)

Mathematics (1520)

Computer Science (1550)

Foreign education may be accepted with documentation demonstrating comparability to U.S. accredited institutions.

Requirements
Eligibility requires:

Relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the duties.

Competencies in partnering, oral communication, problem solving, and project management.

Completion of technical assessment tools (Structured Resume Review and Structured Interview).

Security clearance required: Sensitive Compartmented Information.

Drug testing required.
