Senior Billing Project Specialist
The Senior Billing Project Specialist is responsible for supporting the Billing Department and assisting the department in maintaining maximum efficiency while providing patients with the highest quality level of service.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in developing, maintaining, and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures for the Billing Department and communicating updates and changes as necessary
Partner with other Billing project specialists to review billing escalations
Create and report on key performance indicators
Assist with researching insurance denials, reviewing unapplied payments and processing of patient refunds
Review and process daily adjustments
Assist in the creation of insurance guides and job aids
Review and reconcile aged AR patient collection balances
Coordinate and collaborate with other department managers to communicate company policy changes/updates as needed
Act as a point of escalation for any patient requests
Field patient calls as neededComplete ad‑hoc project work as directed by your manager
Assist in facilitating workload distribution relevant to specific department needs
Display exemplary customer service in all interactions
Other tasks and duties as required
Basic Qualifications
18 years of age or older
Must be eligible to work in the United States and not require work authorization from us now or in the future
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
At least 1 year of customer service experience
Required Skills & Competencies
Effective and professional verbal and written communication abilities
Professional computer experience (especially Microsoft Office Suite)
Ability to work independently to investigate and make decisions
Ability to prioritize and complete work amidst interruptions in a busy work area
Ability to comply with guidelines both internal and industry‑imposed
Ability to reconcile multiple shifting logistical factors for each appointment
Strong attention to detail
Great customer service skills
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
