Orthopedics - Trauma Physician

Facility in Williamsport, PA seeking Ortho Trauma locums coverage Rates: $5000/day Opportunity Highlights

• Start Date: June 11, 2026.
• Initial Coverage Windows:
• June 12 June 22
• July 29 August 17
• Additional ongoing dates are likely.
• Schedule: 24-hour call coverage (6:00 AM 6:00 AM).
• Support: APPs take first call 24/7; Surgeon provides second call.
• EMR: Epic.

Clinical Scope & Volume The Surgeon will focus exclusively on trauma and emergency cases; elective cases are not part of this role.

• Daily Routine: AM rounding with PAs begins at 6:00 AM, followed by surgical cases and consults.
• Case Mix: 95% Adult / 5% Pediatric.
• High volume: ORIF Distal Radius, Hip, Humerus, and Femur.
• High-velocity trauma: Pelvis fractures and limb fractures.
• Procedures: IM Nails, Clavicle ORIF, Irrigation/Debridement, and Closed Reductions.
• Workload: Average Admissions: 2 3 per day.
• Average Consults: 5 per day.
• Average Cases: 3 4 per 24-hour shift.
• Specialty Support: Spine is covered by Neurosurgery. General Orthopedics is available for specific hip approaches (e.g., anterior) if preferred.

Provider Requirements

• Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible.
• Fellowship: Must have completed an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship (Trauma-trained).
• Experience: Open to new graduates who have completed the required fellowship.
• Licensure: Active Pennsylvania (PA) Medical License in hand (Required). IMLC is not accepted.
• DEA: Required.
