Job Summary
Hybrid Work Environment - Must reside on Oahu

Pay Range: $68,000 - $133,000, position is eligible for an incentive bonus. Note: Individuals typically begin between the minimum to middle of the pay range.

Oversee department programs and initiatives that advance employer and member health and wellbeing, health plan education, and HMSA product offerings. Manage staff and collaborate with Account Management teams to consult and partner with employer groups on assessing, developing, and implementing health and wellbeing solutions. Lead efforts to improve engagement, foster a culture of health, and support HMSA's sales, retention, and strategic growth objectives through effective health and wellbeing campaigns and events, health plan education, and promotion of HMSA programs. Conduct needs analysis to guide the development and execution of employer group wellbeing plans, ensuring alignment with annual performance metrics, strategic plans, Open Enrollment, and onsite events. Facilitate resource management and monitor progress of multi-year employer health and wellbeing plans, collaborating across sales and internal teams to achieve department and corporate health and wellbeing goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Performance

Develop and execute strategies and plans to meet and exceed employer and employee health and wellbeing goals and objectives.

Strategically plan and employ multiple media strategies (e.g., webinars, in-person events, direct mail, email, social media/internet and exceptional selling skills) to sell, promote, educate and implement HMSA and ancillary products and services to existing and potential members on the group specific plans offered, wellbeing programs, disease management and preventive care programs and other programs in accordance with the strategic marketing goals of HMSA.

Collaborate with account teams/direct reports on face‑to‑face meetings with stakeholders to develop strategic plans with employer groups that address health improvement and prevention opportunities through engagement in HMSA's health and wellbeing programs/solutions.

Develop new and review existing processes, procedures and methods to support the delivery of health and wellbeing solutions. Manage and maintain documentation of processes, procedures and methods.

Management

Manage work assignments of all direct reports. Handle all escalations timely.

Manage staff to maximize productivity to achieve both corporate and departmental priorities and objectives. Coach, train, mentor and develop staff through weekly one‑on‑one's, formal coaching sessions, and development including developing goals/objectives for performance management programs and related performance action plans.

Train customer‑facing staff on health and wellbeing strategies and programs.

Execute health and wellbeing strategies aligned with department and corporate goals.

Manage the tracking system for the annual employer/employee wellbeing plans.

Provide expertise in health and wellbeing improvement solutions and capabilities to internal stakeholders and external customers.

Work with internal stakeholders to develop and execute health and wellbeing plans to retain, renew, and acquire membership.

Develop tools and materials to promote health and wellbeing and improve productivity of customer‑facing and internal staff.

Relationships and Business Partnerships

Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal departments and external partners to identify and create meaningful programs that meet employer and employee needs.

Actively participate in planning and evaluation sessions with internal departments and external partners to ensure continual improvement of all HMSA offerings and to ensure they continue to add value and increase employee engagement.

Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Two years in a supervisory or management experience.

Ability to supervise, lead and manage a diverse set of employees.

Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills – comfortable with face‑to‑face communication with a diverse population.

Proven ability to work in a team environment.

Knowledge of business process development.

Proficient in Microsoft office suite.

Excellent facilitation and presentation skills with understanding of group dynamics.

Excellent planning, coordination, organizational, and time and multiple priority management skills.

Strong decision‑making and problem‑analysis skills.

Effective negotiating and sales skills.

Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Active license with the state of Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs or pass all four sections of the state licensing examination within three months of hire date. Having an active license to sell Health, Life and Group Insurance products in the state of Hawaii is a condition of employment.

Must have valid driver's license, access to an automobile with current license, registration and no‑fault insurance.
