Sunday - Wednesday 4:00 pm – 2:30 am

Job Purpose
The Inventory Control Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers concerned with inventorying materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in stockroom, warehouse or yard.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Maintain layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors in items stored.

Study records and recommend remedial actions for reported non‑usable, slow‑moving, and excess stock.

Review records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and determine adequacy of stock levels.

Schedule work for special and periodic inventories.

Prepare composite reports from individual reports of Inventory Specialists.

Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records, and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.

Issue written/oral instructions and expedite workflow with team members.

Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.

Other tasks as assigned by manager.

Travel requirement to assist other facilities and have reliable transportation.

Additional Responsibilities

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Write routine reports and correspondence.

Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.

Utilize computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training in Inventory Control.

Minimum 1–2 years related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment.

Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift.

Experience using WMS software (Synapse preferred).

Working knowledge of Inventory Control practices; KPI reporting, Coordinating Cycle Count programs, Product rotation.

PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.

Education And/or Experience Required

High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Write reports and correspondence.

Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.

Language Skills Sets

Effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English.

Read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.

Mathematical Skills

Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Determine “root cause” of problem and determine corrective action.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of Business Operating Systems, Internet software, Word Processing, and Spreadsheet software.

Physical Demands

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Stand; walk; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl.

Activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.

Speak and communicate clearly over telephones.

Work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.

Work under stressful situations, maintain accuracy and concentrate on multiple tasks.

Read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.

Be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.

Work Environment

Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. Noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
