Role
Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi‑skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge.
Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed.
Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees, and assists in development of training procedures.
Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans.
Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job including adherence to all drawings, procedures, etc.
Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company's performance.
Supervises qualified trades staff; monitors job and budget performance for all shifts.
$5,000 sign‑on bonus to Foreman new hires. Job seekers who apply on qualifying requisitions are eligible. The bonus is for all Foreman new hires and current Newport News Shipbuilding employees.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree OR
Apprentice Certification
High School and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience
Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience
