The Assistant Overnight Manager at Cosentino's Price Chopper is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing store operations during overnight hours. This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong supervisory and leadership abilities, coupled with excellent communication and problem‑solving skills. The Assistant Overnight Manager will ensure efficient inventory control, effective ordering, and proper stocking of products, while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. This role involves unloading trucks and ensuring all tasks are completed with meticulous attention to detail. Must be able to work shifts from 10pm – 6am, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
Supervise and direct overnight staff, ensuring efficient task completion and adherence to company policies.
Oversee the unloading trucks process, verifying deliveries and ensuring proper storage of goods.
Manage inventory control procedures, including monitoring stock levels and minimizing waste.
Execute ordering processes, ensuring adequate product availability to meet customer demand.
Lead the team in stocking shelves and maintaining a visually appealing and organized store layout.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Utilize computer skills for various tasks, including inventory management and order processing.
Effectively communicate with daytime management regarding overnight operations and any arising issues.
Employ problem‑solving skills to address operational challenges and ensure smooth store operations.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner and recognize when it is appropriate to involve the Night Manager.
Support the company by completing additional tasks identified by management, assisting other stores or departments as needed and gaining new skills when necessary.
Reach overhead with both arms up to a maximum of 84 inches, twisting at the waist and lifting objects with both hands weighing up to 5 lbs.
Pushing and pulling loaded grocery carts and pallet jacks up to a peak force of 75 lbs.
Standing and walking for long periods of time on tile, asphalt, concrete or other hard surfaces.
Frequently lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
Bending and squatting, at times all the way to floor level.
Able to work in colder conditions of the grocery coolers and freezers.
Climbing a ladder, possibly up to 15 ft.
Minimum Qualifications
General knowledge of retail grocery operations.
Demonstrated supervisory experience, leading and motivating a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of computer skills for basic data entry and reporting.
Ability to problem‑solve effectively and make sound decisions under pressure.
Experience with inventory control principles.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in ordering and managing product inventory.
Prior experience in a grocery store management role.
Familiarity with stocking procedures.
