About the Position
VHB’s Orlando, FL office has an immediate opening for a Senior Transportation Planner. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope.
Overview
As a Senior Transportation Planner, you will develop transportation planning studies, support public involvement activities, author project documentation, and perform analyses using GIS and other tools.
Responsibilities
Development of transportation planning studies for a multitude of transportation projects
Development of support materials for public involvement activities
Authorship of project-related documentation for a range of transportation planning studies, demographic analyses, and multi‑modal / transit‑oriented projects
Prepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
Conduct planning assessments using analytical tools such as GIS to evaluate data, identify trends, and develop documentation to summarize results
Perform field data collection and other on‑site project support activities
Skills & Abilities
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Team‑oriented with strong capability to work independently
A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve
The ability to work on multiple projects and work independently
Excellent attention to detail
Proficiency with communication tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and graphics software
Qualifications
11‑15 years of planning, consulting, and compliance experience
BA in Planning or related area of study; Master’s degree a plus
Professional planning certification preferred (e.g., American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP))
