About the Position
We are seeking a Senior Data and Technology Manager to administer key systems for Popular Democracy’s Data and Technology (D&T) department, which includes supporting affiliate data requests, creating and delivering data and technology trainings, and managing vendor and consultant relationships. This position collaborates deeply with other D&T members, Popular Democracy staff, and affiliates. It is expected that the Senior Data and Technology Manager will travel and attend in‑person trainings, meetings, and actions with Popular Democracy affiliates and partners as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

Partner with other teammates to lead day‑to‑day administration of the Popular Democracy EveryAction instance to best serve program needs.

Work with supervisor and teammates to maintain operational technology at Popular Democracy.

Respond to data and tech requests from Popular Democracy staff and affiliate network.

Train and support affiliate staff in the use of EveryAction and the adoption of Popular Democracy data architecture for organizing.

Ensure data integrity and cleanliness in our EveryAction committees and other tools and systems for organizing and fundraising, including de‑duping and quality control.

Administer key CRM and data systems as assigned (EveryAction, Salesforce, BigQuery, CARTO, movement tools, etc.) to align with program and network needs.

Build systems capacity across the network through creating training materials, identifying training needs, and training individuals.

Other related duties as needed and assigned.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Significant experience with EveryAction and/or NGPVAN MyCampaign and the ability to quickly connect program goals with system functionality.

Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is preferred but not required.

Past experience in a base building organization and belief in the power of organizing.

Experience creating and delivering trainings for users and the ability to train and communicate technical concepts with non‑technical people across lines of difference, in both English and Spanish.

Patience and understanding when supporting non‑technical staff.

Demonstrated experience in data management including, but not limited to, wrangling large datasets, performing data quality control and cleaning, etc.

Creative problem‑solving skills and a solutions‑oriented perspective when working with end users.

Customer service, product service, client success, or support experience.

Willingness and desire to learn new tools. Experience with Salesforce, Mobilize, Hustle, and other common movement tools is a plus but not required.

A demonstrated commitment to social, racial, and economic justice and a deep understanding of challenges facing low‑wage workers, immigrant communities, communities of color, disabled people, LGBTQ+ folks, and people at the intersections of the above communities.

Salary and Benefits
This position is included in a collective bargaining unit represented by the Washington‑Baltimore News Guild. Specific employment terms are subject to a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). The salary for this category 3 position is determined by a salary calculation system that is set by the CBA and is not negotiable. The starting salary is $85,000 and can increase up to $95,000, depending on a variety of factors as described in the CBA.

We have a generous benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 15 vacation days in the first year, 12 sick days per year, additional PTO, including holidays, and contributions to individuals’ 401K plans.
