Job Summary and Qualifications
The Supervisor is responsible for supervision of daily operations of the department.
What you will do in this role:
Provides leadership over direct reports in order to meet and exceed organizational/departmental expectations. This includes, but is not limited to conflict resolution, staff learning, following policy and procedure and effective communication. Resolves patient, staff and physician concerns effectively. Coaches staff effectively.
Ensures that new staff is precepted and evolve in a competent manner. Takes initiative and follow-through with competency for staff.
Performs and maintains expertise within the scope of Transplant Financial Services. Follows job specific responsibilities/standards for social worker for assigned population. Assure same with social work staff.
Performs quality analysis, identifies and resolves issues in the Financial Approval, Coordination and Coverage functions of the department.
Performs quality analysis, identifies and resolves issues in the Billing & Reimbursement (MSO) functions of the department.
Implements and maintains department processes and procedures.
Manages staff scheduling and payroll duties.
Writes and/or revises policies and procedures as necessary.
Completes staff yearly evaluations.
Assists the Director with all departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision, facility and department goals.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree Required
Minimum 5 years medical insurance benefit coverage assessment, processing & invoices; including HMO and PPO experience
Experience in an acute care facility, managed care contracting strongly preferred
Advanced reasoning, mathematics, oral & written communication skills
Knowledge of provider networks
Medical terminology and working knowledge of commercial and Medicare benefit coverage. Strong problem-solving and organization skills.
