Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) is looking for a Mid-Level Electrical Design Engineer to support the Environmental Test Design Engineering team in Berkeley, MO.

Electrical Design Engineers on the team design electrical interfaces/connections and support fabrication/installation of test articles and fixtures. Design work includes developing and specifying connections between test articles/aircraft subsystems and control hardware, required power supplies, facility controls, infrastructure (can include supplied pressure, heating/cooling, power, hydraulics, etc.), and any electrical hardware required in between, such as terminal blocks, break‑out boxes, and other hardware simulators. Additional responsibilities can include electrical design support for instrumentation and data system connections. Support during fabrication, installation/connection, and check‑out are required to deliver a fully ready‑for‑test configuration.

The primary focus of this position is to support St. Louis Environmental Lab testing for local Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) programs. Test capabilities within the Environmental labs include vibrational/structural dynamics, acoustic, airflow systems, fuel flow systems, high temperature flow impingement, and environmental control chambers, where temperature, humidity, and pressure are varied.

As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on the latest military aircraft and weapons programs such as T‑7A, F‑15, F/A-18, MQ‑25, JDAM, SDB, in addition to Phantom Works proprietary efforts.

Position Responsibilities Include:

Development of electrical design criteria from customer test objectives/requirements

Design and documentation of electrical systems, components, connections, and interfaces

Outline electrical wiring required to adapt to test articles & subassemblies

Support of lab or flight test instrumentation and data acquisition

Selection of electrical hardware (cables, connectors, shielding, terminal blocks, etc.)

Installation support and direction to lab test personnel

Electrical hardware support during hardware inspection, check‑out, and test execution

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non‑US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

5+ years of experience in electrical and/or electrical system design

5+ years of experience creating electrical schematics using computer aided design tools

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering

1+ years of experience in test and evaluation

Experience with a broad range of power, signal, and instrumentation hardware used in test

Experience with test hardware control and troubleshooting

Experience with wire shop fabrication capabilities including inspection & check‑out

Familiarity with test software platforms, like NI LabVIEW, and their hardware interfaces

Proficiency in AutoCAD, MentorGraphics, or Microsoft VISIO

Pay Rate Range

Min Pay Rate: $64

Max Pay Rate: $69

Currency: USD

Unit: hourly
