Responsibilities
Leverage your medical device labeling and packaging experience to drive and manage labeling and packaging key initiatives and technology implementation projects.
Define, develop and maintain both high level and detailed project plans, metrics and dashboards as well as any related budgets, including comprehensive ROI and risk assessment/mitigation plans.
Leverage your ability to lead without direct reports, be an independent subject matter expert, knowledgeable resource, facilitator, and coach to the Packaging & Labeling organization.
Develop high functioning project teams through strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work across matrixed teams.
Lead design, development and testing workflows and teams for critical functional labeling and packaging enhancement tools and projects
Utilizing lean sigma and standardized project management tools, oversee and manage project teams supporting project deliverables without direct reporting lines ensuring all functional requirements are met.
Ensures participation of the right business resources during the project for alignment of scope, and integrating unique requirements into the processes
Independently identify critical path activities and work with various functions to eliminate road blocks throughout the project lifecycle.
Partner with business owners and key stakeholders globally to ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities and keep business owners in the loop on progress, milestones, risks and any needed escalations.
Gain alignment and acceptance for ideas, plans and actions and implement across organizational boundaries
Effectively Lead project team meetings to ensure clear agenda, effective actions and results
Successfully complete deliverables using standardized lean and PMP project tools and content management systems.
Develop and present slide decks regarding project status and milestones to direct management, cross-functional teams, steering committees and other senior leadership
Proactively provide coaching to COE team on tools, leveraging your expertise as a project manager and lean sigma to enable the structured process and delivery of all key project initiatives and ensure completion
Independent thinker with demonstrated skills in identifying opportunities and translating ideas into actionable full-scale improvement projects, driving from initiation through to completion
Delivery of project milestones that support process / technology and other initiatives across the Packaging & Labeling organization that improve quality, cost, delivery and compliance leveraging experience in the Life Sciences industry
Facilitating the process for improvement projects, managing dashboards, metrics and communication process for product related projects and process/technology related initiatives.
Ability to develop and drive change management strategies
Qualifications
Experience in packaging and product labeling and a good understanding of medical device landscape, including IFUs, User Manuals, package labeling, online printing and package engineering
Understanding of technology and automation in labeling development and / or manufacturing packaging systems and equipment
Understanding labeling and packaging regulations and the impact of these on processes, systems and tools used for packaging and labeling
Working across and up an organization as well as cross functionally, managing and assigning tasks to project resources to ensure high quality, on‑time completion of project deliverables.
Deep experience in lean sigma and continuous improvement as well as expert project management and KPI skills.
Have expertise in, and / or the ability and interest in developing a strong understanding of the PDP process and our product portfolio
You have strong software skills specifically related to project management (e.g. advanced experience in Excel, Project, PowerPoint, etc.)
Are interested in not only driving your own projects but helping others to understand tools and systems to deliver on key improvement strategies
Willingness to share your knowledge and learn new things
High level demonstrated communication skills both verbal and written.
Strong leadership presence. Ability to gain consensus and make decisions/recommendations.
Required Skills
BA/BS in Life Sciences, Packaging and/ or Labeling, Project Management or related field
Must have experience leading large‑scale projects that leverage cross‑functional teams that span multiple functions and global sites/teams.
Must have 8+ years as project or program manager focused on continuous improvement
5‑8 years + experience in life sciences industry, preferably working in packaging and/or labeling area
Black Belt or Master Black Belt in Lean Sigma preferred, not required (could be company specific version)
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, not required
Willing to travel 10% - 15%
Base Pay Range
$172,690 - $237,446
