Position Summary
The Operations Manager directs the efficient and cost‑effective operation of our distribution center(s) and warehousing facilities. The role manages inbound activities related to receipt and storage of goods, inventory management, and claims, and oversees outbound activities related to order filling, stock replenishment, and shipping. Responsibilities include budgeting, customer service, facility and equipment operation, and administration of overall inventory management, productivity, accuracy, and loss prevention programs to ensure customer requirements are met.
What you’ll do
Improve operational systems, processes, and policies to support the organization’s mission, including better management reporting, information flow, and business process planning.
Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services (HR, IT, and Finance) through function improvements and coordination across support and business functions.
Play a significant role in long‑term planning, including initiatives geared toward operational excellence.
Oversee overall financial management, planning, systems, and controls.
Organize service for each business division while maintaining and improving overall operational and departmental efficiencies.
Interface cross‑functionally at all levels within the company’s divisions, including communication with offshore/subsidiary management, external resources, and entities such as freight forwarders, third‑party providers, and governmental agencies.
Troubleshoot and provide solutions for issues of moderate to complex scope.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and cleanliness requirements for personnel and inventory safety.
Participate on divisional management teams and provide direct support to divisions.
Direct warehouse and transportation teams to achieve objectives.
Communicate and motivate staff, monitor individual performance via observation and review of productivity metrics, and counsel and discipline as necessary.
Develop and maintain a productive work team through training and career development.
Consistently promote a strong corporate culture, quality, and high‑performance work teams.
About you
College degree required in Operations, Supply Chain, or Finance related field.
7–10 years of experience in Facilities & Construction management.
Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
Budget development and oversight experience.
Commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
Open to direction, collaborative, and committed to getting the job done.
Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.
Ability to consider multiple perspectives.
Persuasive use of details and facts.
Effective delegation of responsibilities.
