Associate Director – MES Architect & Technical Lead
We are a global healthcare leader headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, committed to delivering innovative medicines. We are inviting an experienced Associate Director to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) at new state‑of‑the‑art production sites.
Responsibilities
Drive the MES architecture and technical strategy for the Syncade solution across all manufacturing sites.
Collaborate with global, enterprise, and local IT teams to deliver solutions that meet business and quality requirements.
Develop and maintain the Syncade architectural roadmap and standards, ensuring consistency, scalability, and reliability.
Lead the definition and delivery of IT support processes and global integration with other data and cybersecurity teams.
Serve as a technical liaison on large projects, providing architecture oversight, proof‑of‑concepts, and business‑case support.
Mentor and coach MES teams and foster continuous improvement of technical practices.
Stay informed on industry trends and lead initiatives to integrate innovative technologies.
Qualifications – Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
Minimum 10 years of MES experience, including expertise in distributed S95 Level 3 solutions, commercial COTS software, and business intelligence.
Prior experience in pharmaceutical GMP manufacturing.
Additional Preferences
Program/project management in the pharmaceutical industry, especially startup of new facilities.
Proven leadership of cross‑functional teams.
Active participation in industry forums and standards organizations.
Strong analytical, risk‑assessment, and communication skills.
Other Information
Position: Monday‑through‑Friday, on‑site; flexible support required for production schedules and shutdowns.
Locations: Indianapolis, IN; Houston, TX; Goochland, VA.
Estimated travel: 5–10 % of business time.
Compensation
Base salary range: $124,500 – $182,600. Eligible for company bonus and a comprehensive benefits program that includes 401(k), pension, vacation, medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, leave of absence, and wellness programs.
