Senior iOS Engineer, Design System

In this role, you will:

Design, build, and maintain native iOS applications and SDKs with a focus on reliability, performance, and customer impact across multiple product areas or services.

Lead end‑to‑end feature delivery, including system design (low‑level design), API design, and data modeling for iOS components and backend integrations that support them.

Establish and champion engineering best practices for iOS development, including code quality, testing, observability, security, and performance tuning across teams.

Collaborate closely with product, design, and platform teams to define technical solutions, drive trade‑off decisions, and ensure consistent mobile architecture and patterns across domains.

Safely integrate and operate AI/ML‑enabled solutions that improve outcomes, including familiarity with AI‑driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products.

Mentor and guide other engineers through code reviews, technical design feedback, and knowledge sharing to increase overall team effectiveness and cross‑domain fungibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.

8+ years of relevant professional experience.

Strong proficiency in Swift and the iOS ecosystem (frameworks, build systems, dependency management, and app store delivery), with solid understanding of networking, data modeling, and API integration patterns.

Demonstrated ability to design and implement maintainable, testable, and observable iOS architectures, including system design (LLD), API design, and collaboration with backend services.

Experience owning the full lifecycle of features or services (design, implementation, testing, release, and operational support) within a broader product or platform area.

Familiarity with AI‑driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products, with a focus on safely integrating these capabilities into mobile features.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced proficiency with Swift/SwiftUI, iOS UI/UX best practices, and performance optimization.

Direct experience contributing to or using a design system.

Experience using AI productivity tools like Claude or Copilot for development, code quality, or efficiency.

Experience building accessible (a11y) and inclusive user interfaces.

Proven track record leading technical design for complex iOS initiatives, including architecture decisions that span multiple services, apps, or domains in a large‑scale environment.

Experience integrating or building AI/ML‑enabled capabilities in mobile applications, such as personalization, recommendations, intelligent assistant flows, or content ranking, with a focus on safety and responsible use.

Experience applying AI‑assisted development and testing tools within iOS engineering workflows to improve developer productivity, code quality, and delivery speed.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $184,500.00 to $258,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $295,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $171,500.00 to $240,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $274,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
