Position Overview
The Regional Transportation Coordinator reports to the Director of Inbound Logistics and is responsible for optimizing inbound logistics processes across multiple modes and facilities. The role oversees planning and execution of inbound freight into manufacturing facilities and regional distribution centers. Key responsibilities include order management, carrier performance, cost control, service level compliance, and cross‑functional partnership to ensure timely, efficient, and safe delivery from suppliers to facilities. The role also focuses on building strong internal and external partnerships while driving continuous improvement and leveraging technology to enhance operations and improve margins.

Key Responsibilities

Lead inbound transportation (multi‑modal) and yard operations to meet KPI targets across regional distribution centers

Plan and execute inbound freight, including order management, scheduling, and coordination with suppliers, carriers, and DC operations

Ensure on‑time delivery and compliance with service standards, lead times, and freight terms through proactive tracking, communication, and issue resolution (including claims and escalations)

Serve as the primary regional contact for inbound logistics, partnering with internal teams, suppliers, and carriers to align on planning and execution

Analyze freight spend, lane performance, and volume trends to drive cost optimization, carrier negotiations, and service improvements

Establish and standardize processes, SOPs, and best practices while leveraging TMS, YMS, and WMS systems to enhance operational efficiency

Develop and monitor KPIs (e.g., OTIF, cost, service) and report on performance to support data‑driven decision‑making

Promote a culture of safety, compliance, sustainability, and continuous improvement across inbound logistics operations

Qualifications and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred

Certifications: Six Sigma and LEAN/CI mindset highly valued

Experience: 5–7 years in multi‑modal transportation or logistics management, with deep understanding of transportation and yard operations

Leadership/Collaboration: Initiative‑taking, accountable, and proactive in driving results with internal and external stakeholders

Digital Fluency: Proficiency in logistics/ERP technologies such as SAP, TMS, WMS, and YMS

Other: Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills

Compensation and Benefits
Estimated salary range: $75,000 – $90,000, plus bonus and benefits.
