
Commodity Manager - Electronics Sourcing (Passives)

This position is to join our RTX Corporate team. This position is for an experienced commodity manager on the Electronics Commodity team, supporting the passives space. Responsibilities will be to develop an overall strategy for the relevant categories, partnering with internal stakeholders to identify sourcing needs/strategy, aligning with key suppliers, and sending quotes/completing contract negotiations to execute strategy.
What You Will Do
Develop a strategic plan for a commodity and supply base
Collaborate with multiple business units to execute Supply Chain strategies
Own and be responsible for relationship with multiple strategic suppliers
Evaluate and select supplier alignment based on price competitiveness, capability, quality, reliability (TCO)
Analyze data and information to determine reasonable prices
Negotiate and execute long‑term agreements with supply base that aligns with commodity strategy and internal stakeholders’ needs
Lead sourcing process from RFQ to contract signature
Work with limited oversight from leadership
Manage several projects at one time with a variety of complexity
Clearly communicate commodity or project status to leadership
Identify and pursue VA/VE opportunities through collaboration with internal stakeholders
Lead change management or work transfer projects for cost savings or better alignment with supply base
Influence and support Collins strategic initiatives and change management projects
Travel: 15%
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum XX years experience
Strong knowledge of Supply Chain practices and Commodity Management
Negotiation skills
Strong analytical skill (Excel, Access database, SAP)
