We are seeking a highly motivated individual for our Knoxville office who has the desire to lead a mature Highways section in a collaborative and progressive workplace. The selected candidate will be responsible for the Highways practice in the Knoxville office, including supervising staff, developing and executing a strategic plan, and overseeing project management to deliver all project objectives (scope, schedule and budget). The candidate will also manage client relationships, workload, financial performance, and staff development.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Coordinate strategic growth plan with office leader, regional manager and practice leaders
Establish and grow market presence through marketing and business development activities
Manage financial budget for department and allocate resources accordingly
Lead and contribute to the production of proposals
Serve as a technical expertise resource to project managers and technical staff
Establish resources staffing needs for the section
Interview and hire staff for the section
Perform performance reviews for staff based on input from project managers on assigned teams
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program
Professional Engineer License
10+ years of experience in a specialized discipline
Project management and business development experience
Proven TDOT PM experience and the ability to win work with a variety of clients
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Qualifications Preferred
Experience working with local clients at the county and state level
Project management and business development experience
Experience managing multidiscipline project teamsSupervisory experience
