Assistant Branch Manager - Float (Full-time)
The assistant branch manager assists the branch manager in administration and daily operations of a full-service branch office, including member service, product sales, lending, and branch compliance. The role also involves supervising staff, coaching sales techniques, meeting retail sales goals, and enhancing the credit union’s community presence. This position floats between multiple branches, primarily at Woodbury East, while also serving Woodbury West, Minneapolis North & South, Eagan, Eden Prairie, Roseville North & South, Blaine, Maple Grove, St. Paul, Coon Rapids, St. Paul West, Golden Valley, Vadnais Heights, or Plymouth.

Blaze is currently offering a bonus of $5,500 paid over two years for DNA experience and $2,000 paid over one year for non-DNA experience for all branch and member experience center positions.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Branch Manager in coaching and developing branch staff to retain a motivated, professional workforce and reach sales goals.

Assist the Branch Manager with training and developing staff in all branch functions, Blaze policies and procedures, and communicating Blaze’s direction and objectives.

Assist the Branch Manager in coaching staff on sales techniques and loan procedures to meet monthly CORE product goals.

Communicate development and performance issues and employee recognition opportunities to the Branch Manager.

Assist the Branch Manager in meeting branch Net Promoter Score (NPS) to ensure superior member service.

Pursue networking opportunities in the community and expand knowledge of industry trends.

Help maintain the appearance and upkeep of the building and grounds to provide a pleasant, professional environment.

Support all branch daily activities and assist the Branch Manager in meeting branch and Credit Union goals.

Schedule staff, manage PTO requests, and ensure procedures are followed.

Provide teller line service during key times such as lunch breaks and act as a resource for staff.

Back up the new account and loan application process as needed to extend financial services and expand membership.

Communicate concerns and accomplishments to the Branch Manager regarding member relationships and sales expectations.

Research member problems and questions, making any necessary corrections.

Ensure the branch follows and maintains security policies, internal controls, and procedures to protect employees, members and assets.

Oversee the monthly branch audits.

Ensure all employees follow dual control and other security policies and procedures.

Oversee the acceptance of branch cash and cards.

Collaborate with the Internal Auditor during branch audits as required.

Other Duties

Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Requirements
Experience, Education, Certifications, and Licenses

Minimum high-school degree or equivalent.

Minimum 3‑4 years of similar or related experience.

Supervisory experience preferred.

Demonstrated Knowledge

Strong sales skills and ability to identify member needs to explain features and benefits of Blaze services and close sales opportunities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Problem-solving, project management, and leadership skills.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret journals, financial reports, legal, and complex documents.

Positive response to change and growth to support Credit Union goals and upper management.

We are committed to providing salary ranges for all open positions. The salary range for this position is $66,192.04 – $99,288.06. Additional benefits include low-cost medical (as low as $20 per pay period), dental insurance, vision insurance, quarterly bonuses, generous vacation and sick time, paid leave options, up to 6% 401(k) contribution, and tuition reimbursement.
