Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for organizing, planning, coordinating and staffing the Fabrication department.
Team building, training and development of all Fabrication shop personnel.
Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all department personnel.
Manage the Fabrication department in a cost-effective manner by sound buying practices and efficient production planning.
Responsible for maintaining the necessary tools, equipment and supplies to fulfill all XL Systems welding requirements.
Review in conjunction with Welding Engineering, all welding procedures and specifications.
Assist and recommend in the area of equipment acquisition, upgrading and the refinement of welding processes.
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of the Fabrication shops.
Generate non-compliance reports, corrective action and/or preventative actions in accordance with the appropriate operating procedure(s).
Maintain and promote a safe working environment in accordance with the appropriate HSE procedure(s).
Comply with all NOV Company and Quality, Health Safety Environmental polices & procedures.
Ensure compliance of the company’s overall objectives.
Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager.
Education & Experience Qualifications
Must have high school diploma or GED.
5 years experience in production/fabricating and/or manufacturing environment.
3 to 5 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role.
Oilfield equipment manufacturing fundamentals/knowledge and experience is preferred.
Working knowledge of Lean Tools and methodologies preferred.
Job Requirements
Comprehensive knowledge of welding and heat‑treating processes.
Strong leadership, organizational and problem‑solving skills; customer service driven.
Effective communication skills (verbal and written) across all organizational levels.
Team building.
Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook).
Must be able to do extensive walking, bending, stooping, and moderate to heavy lifting.
