Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with intra- and interdepartmental staff to assess, diagnose, and treat patients using nationally recognized treatment guidelines.
- Conduct medical examinations and complete evaluations, reports, and documentation using an electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to support clinical decision-making.
- Prescribe, manage, and monitor medications as appropriate.
- Complete reclassifications, medical reviews, and other assessments as required.
- Make referrals for specialized care or additional treatment when clinically indicated.
- Perform all duties within the appropriate scope of practice and in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, protocols, and American Correctional Association (ACA) standards.
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives, including peer review activities.
- Engage in collaborative agreements as required.
- Manage a patient caseload of up to 2.5 patients per hour
- Active and unrestricted Ohio medical license.
