Exciting Locum - Physician - Hospitalist - OB Opportunity in Rowlett, TX

In this position, you will be responsible for OB triage, admissions, deliveries, inpatient care, managing unassigned patients, and providing private call coverage. You will assist with OB floor coverage, ER consults for GYN emergencies, surgical procedures including cesarean sections, fetal monitoring, and emergency responses during labor and delivery. Shifts are 24 hours in-house, offering a comprehensive experience in a Level III NICU setting with collaborative support from in-house neonatologists, NNPs, and maternal-fetal medicine specialists for high-risk pregnancies. Anesthesiology services are available 24/7 to ensure seamless patient care.

Required Skills:
  • Valid medical license and current board certification in OB/GYN
  • Surgical skills including cesarean delivery
  • Experience with fetal monitoring and obstetric emergencies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and bedside manner

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Prior experience in a hospitalist or inpatient OB setting
  • Familiarity with Level III NICU operations
  • EMR proficiency and documentation skills
  • Bilingual abilities, especially Spanish, are a plus

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in obstetrics and gynecology, with inpatient focus preferred

Other Requirements:
  • Availability to start on 04/11/2026
  • In-house shifts (24 hours) in a hospital setting
  • Willingness to work in a busy obstetric environment with high-volume deliveries
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
