The Birmingham Airport Authority (BAA), operator of Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM), seeks a dynamic Business Development Manager to advance strategic revenue growth and optimize asset utilization. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, this role plays a vital part in positioning the Authority for sustained competitive advantage. Focused on real estate development and aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenue streams, the Business Development Manager identifies, secures, and implements opportunities that enhance financial performance, strengthen partnerships, and elevate the Airport’s long-term value to the region it serves.
Key responsibilities include:
Prospect and evaluate new real estate and business opportunities that maximize airport revenue and land utilization
Develop proposals, financial analyses, and business justifications to support strategic initiatives
Negotiate partnerships and agreements with developers, operators, and related agencies
Guide competitive solicitation and award processes in compliance with procurement policies and regulations
Present market findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and executive staff
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align development initiatives with operational and financial goals
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience totaling four years
Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in strategic business development
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
Salary & Compensation The salary range for this position is $68,324 - $85,405 with a maximum of $102,486 and includes an attractive benefits package. Relocation assistance is available.
