Position Summary
Bayview Asset Management (BAM) is seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join its IT Data Operations team. This role is part of a cross‑functional group operating at the intersection of residential, consumer, and commercial loan analytics, capital markets, and structured finance. The Analyst will support BAM’s core mortgage‑related activities, including loan acquisitions and sales, securitization preparation, collateral management, and ad hoc data and strategy initiatives. Positioned within the Capital Markets group, this role offers direct exposure to trading, research, system development, operations, and structuring teams. The ideal candidate is analytically strong, technically proficient, and eager to drive impact through data‑driven insights and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and prepare loan tape data for internal credit models, investor deliverables, and rating agency packages.
Assist in designing and implementing ETL pipelines to extract data from various systems, such as SQL databases, CRM, and flat files.
Clean, format, and transform raw data into usable formats for analytical purposes, including data warehousing.
Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining ETL mappings and workflows.
Develop and perform unit tests to ensure data quality and integrity; optimize ETL workflows for better performance and efficiency.
Provide production support for ETL jobs, debug issues, and reduce technical defects.
Provide analytics support across residential, consumer, and commercial departments, as well as to strategy and structuring teams.
Conduct quarterly residential loan portfolio valuations (institutional level) and provide market commentary and pricing perspectives.
Perform collateral integrity checks, identify and troubleshoot data anomalies, and enhance validation procedures.
Prepare daily rate‑lock updates, daily position reports, and month‑end collateral reviews.
Contribute to automation and AI‑driven initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and improve daily workflows.
Partner with research, technology, and operations teams to build scalable, game‑changing solutions that contribute to the team’s evolving front‑office function.
Manage and prioritize intraday and ad‑hoc data requests from trading desks and internal stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experiences
Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, to clearly articulate complex data and insights both verbally and in writing.
Familiarity with ETL tools such as Informatica, Microsoft SSIS, Talend, or DataStage.
Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehouse design, and cloud technologies.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, SQL, and Python is required.
Experience with Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
Quick learner capable of adapting to proprietary systems and new tools.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Collaborative team player who thrives in cross‑functional environments and builds strong stakeholder relationships.
Ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining high‑quality work in fast‑paced settings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or analytical field (e.g., Finance, Economics, Math, Computer Science, or related discipline).
Location & Compensation
This is a hybrid position that can be based in either Bayview’s Denver office or New York office. It will be 3 days on‑site and 2 days remote.
The compensation offered for this role will be between $80,000 and $100,000 and will depend on the level of experience.
This role is eligible to participate in the firm’s performance‑based bonus compensation programs.
