A specialised Catastrophe Risk InsurTech are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Business Development professional to lead growth in the UK market. This is a rare opportunity to join at an early stage, take ownership of regional expansion, and play a pivotal role in building our UK presence from the ground up.
NB: to be eligible for this role you must have a background in cat/risk modelling software sales, with an existing network you can leverage in this space.
Key Responsibilities
UK Market Growth & Business Development (Initial Focus)
Lead targeted outreach to enterprise-level organisations across the UK, identifying and qualifying opportunities for our risk intelligence solutions
Build brand awareness and market presence by engaging decision-makers in insurance, reinsurance, financial services, infrastructure, and related sectors
Use a mix of strategic outreach (email, phone, LinkedIn) and marketing-driven campaigns to open conversations and develop early-stage relationships
Research UK industry segments, regulatory context, and market dynamics to tailor messaging and create relevant, high-value discussions
Develop and manage a strong pipeline of qualified enterprise opportunities, maintaining accurate activity and forecasting in the CRM
Work closely with senior leadership and Account Executives to align outreach with priority accounts, deal strategy, and long-term territory planning
Support discovery conversations and early-stage solution positioning by gathering commercial and technical insights
Requirements
2–5 years’ experience in business development, sales, or a client-facing commercial role — ideally in SaaS, data analytics, risk modelling, or geospatial technology
Demonstrated ability to engage senior stakeholders and build relationships with enterprise organisations
Strong commercial instincts and confidence operating in a market-building or early-stage growth environment
Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex technical solutions into clear business value
Proactive, self-directed, and comfortable taking ownership of a region or territory
Experience using CRM and sales tools to manage pipeline and performance
Interest in climate risk, insurance analytics, catastrophe modelling, or geospatial data is highly advantageous
UK market knowledge and professional network in relevant sectors is a strong plus
