
Field Operations Technician

As a skilled Field Operations Technician, you will utilize your technical background to work on restoration activities, preventative maintenance, and installation. Your emphasis on building trust with clients and providing a best‑in‑class approach to customer service will be the foundation for success. You will perform installation, repair, configuration and testing of moves, additions, changes and disconnects (MACD) on various Nokia, Infinera, and Ciena equipment, support customer optical, electrical, voice and data services, and test circuits using optical time domain reflectometers (OTDR).
Essential Responsibilities
Deliver a high‑quality, customer‑focused service experience to every client
Resolve customer issues calmly and professionally using effective de‑escalation techniques
Perform on‑site installation and repair of internet services, copper and fiber cabling, demarc extensions, and rack‑mounted networking equipment
Diagnose technical problems and implement solutions, including running new cable, replacing hardware components, and installing data circuits for internet connectivity
Follow Ledcor’s safety standards and ensure proper use of vehicles, tools, and equipment at all times
Qualifications
Five plus years of experience in telecommunications, business installation and service for electronics, appliances, security, and/or cabling
A positive, “can‑do” attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy, and sincerity
Degree or diploma from a technical college would be preferred
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Experience working in the field independently and thriving in a dynamic environment
Clear and efficient verbal and written communication skills
Work Conditions
Will be expected to travel with a company provided vehicle
Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights and in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces, as well as in all types of weather conditions (that are deemed safe)
