Job Description
Pay Range: $76,000 - $95,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications

As a Product Design Engineer, you will develop innovative solutions to support new products and/or revisions to existing products.

Manage engineering projects and timelines, and keep leadership informed through written communication and presentations.
Execute projects from concept, through prototyping and testing, to production readiness.
Responsibilities
Work safely by following company policy and using appropriate PPE where necessary.
Develop innovative and manufacturing-friendly design solutions for new and existing products.
Generate 2D and 3D CAD models aligned with company drafting standards.
Design and create prototypes to demonstrate and verify fit, form, and function.
Lead design reviews for cross‑functional collaboration.
Create and execute test plans to validate design concepts.
Document and review test results using test report templates.
Develop and modify bill of materials per design intent and certification testing.
Create product specifications that align with customer requirements and supplier capabilities.
Communicate and coordinate with cross‑functional partners to implement design solutions.
Manage engineering projects and timelines, ensuring timely execution of tasks.
Lead technical components of multiple projects, communicating scope and status through written communication and presentations.
Manage multiple projects concurrently while adhering to budget, schedule, and scope constraints.
Take projects from concept, through prototyping and testing, to production readiness.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (or other four‑year technical discipline) and/or a relevant two‑year associate’s degree combined with five years of experience.
Previous experience in design engineering preferred.
Proficiency using 2D and 3D CAD software; SolidWorks 3D experience preferred.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience preferred.
Fluent with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Practical knowledge of process improvement & development tools (8D, Six Sigma, DMAIC, Stage Gate).
Experience predicting failure modes (design FMEA, fishbone, 5‑Whys).
Strong time‑management, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Customer focus both internally and externally.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self‑starter, able to work independently.
Willingness to travel as needed.
