Job Description
Washington Community School District is hiring a 9‑12 Vocal Music teacher for the 2026‑27 school year. The successful candidate will lead strong vocal programs, collaborate with colleagues, and continue the department’s growth.
Responsibilities
Teach multiple vocal music classes (HS Concert Choir, HS Show Choir "Cinematics", A Cappella, etc.).
Prepare students for IHSMA All‑State Auditions, 9th Grade OPUS Auditions, and Solo/Ensemble Contest.
Provide weekly voice lessons to Concert Choir participants.
Collaborate with the Middle School Choir Teacher when possible.
Execute the vocal music contract: direct the HS Concert Choir for 4 concert performances, IHSMA Large Group Contest, Graduation show, and host the IHSMA State Show Choir Contest.
Qualifications
A music education endorsement is required.
Passion, dedication, and strong communication skills.
Experience teaching vocal music and leading school choirs.
Team‑oriented, collaborative, and adaptable to school needs.
