Job Overview
BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring a skilled & compassionate veterinary technician for our Overnight Emergency team at our new hospital in Framingham, MA.
Sign‑on bonus up to $10,000 based on experience and credentials.
Schedule & Pay
Schedule: 3–12 hour shifts.
Pay: $24.25–$49.00 per hour plus shift differentials.
Shift differentials (minimum 4 hours):
Mon–Fri, 6 pm–8 am: +$4.00
Sat & Sun, 8 am–6 pm: +$4.00
Sat & Sun, 6 pm–8 am: +$5.50
Pay band depends on experience and competency assessment. VTS credentialed candidates receive compensation commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
Triage emergency cases upon arrival, obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
Perform digital radiography with proper technique and positioning.
Understand normal ranges of patient vital signs including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting the veterinarian to changes.
Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
Perform medical calculations (including constant‑rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.
Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
Mentor and train co‑workers.
Show patience and empathy when addressing client concerns.

Continuing Education

Full‑time CVT associates receive 8 hours of CE paid hours; full‑time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid hours. Paid CE hours may be carried over up to 24 hours. Newly hired associates receive a pro‑rated amount.
