YOUR ROLE
As a Prototype Coordinator on our team you will support several project managers to procure pre‑production components, receive and maintain site inventory, track shipments for components ordered and ultimately ship out finished goods to fulfill engineering orders. This is a key support role for our team and may involve other activities as needed by the Project Management staff at the Aptiv Troy Technical Center (Advanced Development Site for Occupant Sensing & Other Safety Electronics).
In your daily job you will:
Support project managers with pre‑production component procurement and order fulfillment.
Communicate with suppliers; place purchase orders and follow‑up through delivery and payment.
Receive and maintain site inventory of pre‑production material.
Prepare finished goods for shipment to engineers (internal as well as customer).
Generate labels and prepare dunnage for shipments.
Follow‑up with shipping dock to assure receipt of POs & payments to suppliers.
YOUR BACKGROUND
Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:
3-5 years of experience in a similar position.
Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
Strong computer skills; proficient in Excel; Outlook email; and internet search skills.
Proven ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
Detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on quality, accuracy, and problem‑solving.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.
Strong follow‑up is expected for this role.
Nice to have:
Engineering background / Electrical component knowledge.
Proficiency in JIRA or SAP is helpful, but not necessary.
