Overview
The primary purpose of the Undergraduate Internship is to provide an intern with relevant field experiences in their chosen field of study. Interns will observe the functions and processes of the assigned work unit, complete internship‑related assignments and reports, and may receive selected work assignments to reinforce the learning experience. Interns must pass a pre‑employment drug test and criminal background check. Placement timing is arranged with the intern and the sponsoring educational facility, and the program does not provide financial assistance with relocation, housing or transportation.
Responsibilities
Observe functions and processes of the assigned work unit.
Receive instruction, guidance, and performance assessment from assigned mentors.
Complete all internship‑related assignments and reports for Mayo and the participating educational facility.
Participate in selected work assignments to reinforce learning and provide benefit to the work unit.
Pass a pre‑employment drug test and criminal background check.
Qualifications
Enrollment in a degree program at an accredited college or university.
Completion of most of the required courses for the degree program.
Authorization to work and remain in the United States without the need for Mayo Clinic sponsorship at present or in the future (e.g., U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee or asylee).
