Quality Assurance Technician I
The Quality Assurance Technician I supports all quality-related activities of the Quality department to maintain quality assurance of all manufactured and purchased products to achieve product excellence, continuous process improvement, and customer satisfaction. The core hours for this position will be Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. The pay range is $22.50 - $24.00/hour.
Responsibilities
Conduct in-process inspections, verifying that all documents and builds meet assembly requirements utilizing prints, BOMs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Verify correct product, labeling, markings, quantity, dimensional, visual, and documentation, and input data for historical reference using the product database, and report issues to quality leadership.
Compare the physical characteristics of products to technical specifications to identify defects.
Conduct tests on electrical function, reliability, and packaging quality; record results.
Report non‑conforming material issues to quality and production leadership so necessary adjustments, reworks, and dispositions can be put in place.
Interact and collaborate well with members of other departments, such as production, product management, and engineering, to improve quality methods and system processes which will result in a positive influence and impact on the overall quality of our products and services.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and one (1) year of relevant experience or equivalent experience and training are required.
Ability to safely use various metrology tools and equipment including but not limited to calipers, handheld photometer, and a multimeter for purposes of evaluating product conformance.
Ability to strategize, plan, organize, prioritize, and execute a variety of multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner.
Work with low voltage electricity.
Knowledge of quality best practices that can be applied in the company’s environment, preferred.
Knowledge of principles and practices of continuous improvement, ISO regulations a plus, preferred.
Knowledge of LEDs, LED drivers, controls, basic lighting terminology, photometry, and applications, preferred.
Knowledge of test equipment including multimeters, calipers, and handheld photometers, preferred.
Operate and maintain modern office equipment, including computer equipment and specialized software applications programs.
Use tact, initiative, prudence, and independent judgment within general policy, procedural, and safety guidelines.
Effectively communicate in person, over the telephone, and in writing in English.
