ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Regional Program Manager, you’ll leverage experience with effective content-based language instruction, instructional coaching, and biliteracy pedagogy to drive academic outcomes for emergent bilingual students. You’ll serve as a language acquisition expert, utilizing your understanding of bilingual and dual language education frameworks and evidence-based language strategies to drive academic achievement and language development across primary grade bands and content areas.

JOB DESCRIPTION
With a focus on effectively implementing KIPP Texas's multilingual products and frameworks, such as Get Ready!, Summit K12, 7 Steps to a Language-Rich Interactive Classroom, and dual-language simultaneous biliteracy instruction, you’ll directly coach teachers, multilingual education specialists, and school leaders on effective strategies to support multilingual KIPPsters. Through strong coaching and ongoing progress monitoring, you’ll play a vital role in improving academic and linguistic outcomes across our campuses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Focus on Achievement: Demonstrate a deep desire and record of results to support schools with closing achievement gaps for all emergent bilingual learners. Understand the research and importance of comprehensible input strategies to engage all emergent bilingual learners. Hold high expectations for themselves as well as the leaders and teachers to remove barriers for multilingual learners from academic achievement.

Content Expert: Demonstrate expertise and understanding of multilingual frameworks, pedagogy, and instructional materials in an area of content expertise. Have experience effectively implementing KIPP Texas’s chosen resources and frameworks such as Get Ready!, Summit K12, 7 Steps to a Language-Rich Interactive Classroom, and dual-language simultaneous biliteracy instruction.

Effective Coach: Lead instructional improvement efforts on a portfolio of schools by planning and facilitating professional learning, modeling effective CBLI strategies, observing classroom instruction, and providing actionable feedback to teachers, deans of multilingual education, and school leaders.

Partnering with school-based leadership teams, specifically coaching deans of multilingual education, to impact the execution of CBLI strategies to meet the affective, linguistic, and cognitive needs of emergent bilingual students.

Leading deans of multilingual education and teachers in setting clear, measurable goals and providing ongoing support to plan and execute effective CBLI strategies through targeted observation and professional development.

Conducting individualized coaching sessions with deans of multilingual education to observe ELDA instruction, provide feedback, and collaboratively develop actionable strategies for improving comprehensible and compelling input for newcomers.

Ensure consistent implementation of the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) and linguistic accommodations aligned to students’ language proficiency levels.

Leading school-based practice clinics and teach backs focused on CBLI strategies.

Leading weekly PLCs for deans of multilingual education in their execution of ELDA, Summit K12 and CBLI strategies.

In collaboration with school leaders and leadership teams, craft and implement strategic response plans to meet the KTX emergent bilingual targets, including TELPAS growth and Domain III targets.

Support school leaders and school leadership teams in progress monitoring actions that drive academic achievement and language development for all current and monitored emergent bilingual students.

Coach deans of multilingual education on effective cohort data analysis practices.

Analyze school-specific and regional data to identify emergent bilingual trends and support the development of response plans to meet annual goals.

Ensure that all state and federal guidelines are implemented across portfolio of schools by working collaboratively with KTX compliance manager and campus dean of multilingual education.

Assist with Title III engagement activities to increase and strengthen family, parent, and community connections and supports to emergent bilingual learners.

Support KIPP teachers in acquiring required Bilingual and ESL certification with the support of the HR and talent teams.

Assist with planning the Summer Language Program recruitment, hiring, training, and monitor effectiveness aligned to students' growth.

Collaborate with regional and school-level CTCs to facilitate and monitor campus TELPAS testing plans for accurate data collection.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree; relevant Master’s degree in Multilingual Education preferred.

Minimum of 2 years experience as a successful assistant principal, school leader, or full-time sheltered instruction or bilingual instructional coach at a primary campus.

Proven record of results driving emergent bilingual academic and linguistic growth.

Deep knowledge of content-based language instruction (CBLI), dual-language and simultaneous biliteracy instruction and pedagogy.

Leadership in planning and monitoring multilingual compliance policies.

Exceptional ability to set clear metrics for success, monitor progress, and demonstrate persistence in overcoming obstacles to achieving short- and long-term goals.

Excellent leadership and management skills; ability to impact, influence, motivate, coach, and inspire both internal and external audiences.

Exceptional coaching skills that lead to improved instructional effectiveness.

WHAT WE BRING TO THE TABLE

The starting point for the salary range for this position is $73,000 - $80,000 commensurate upon experience and internal equity.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Reports to school site and/or regional central office Monday-Friday. Typical school environment with frequent interruptions.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Regular travel across KIPP Texas regions for school visits, in person meetings, trainings, and conferences.
